Feabie
Feabie, and don't get it twisted, per these lovely people, it's pronounced like you would "Phoebe." This is a dating service dedicated for those who are either overweight, love overweight people, thick, and plump, too! But there's a bit of a fetish flare to this spot. A dash of some tasty seasoning, if you catch my drift. Ever heard or "feeders" and "feedees?"
Feabie connects with people with a food fetish. Those who love feeding someone and the one's who enjoy being fed.
Design - A Snack
The design of Feabie is a simple job that's done very well. Often you'll get places who try to go simple but it just doesn't end up looking very good. Feabie does a great job is having this three-tierd website. Got food on my mind? Any girl willing to let me feed her some cake? Or... wait, I should be eating her cake-- er, the cake.
Feabie's site, on the main page, is simple and all their information is laid out for new users. You start with a brief description of who they are and what they're about. You also learn the types of people Feabie is looking to attract and hook up with others. Those that are "thick, plump, chubby, or fat." Big girls need lovin' too.
You then pop down to a quick view of their app. The "Feabie" community is a part of a larger grouping of communities. But for this, their photos show some previews of what their side looks like.
Then, we finally get some information about what the site offers. Feabie does a good job of laying everything out so that it's clear. Even on mobile, the site remains clear and in a good format for a more vertical screen.
Content - Feederism Community
Did you think I didn't know about the feederism community. Do you know who I am? Damn right I didn't know. Anyway, that's the type of community Feabie is. They let you know that right from the jump before you get a little too curious about anything.
The preview of Feabie's mobile app gives us a little more of an understanding behind some of the things they're good for. We see something like a "Friend's List" via the small preview. We are then shown what a profile may look like. Feabie allows people to input their weight into their profile. As a website that's all about the plump, fat, and obese, this makes sense. Someone might wanna know what they're putting on them!
We're then given some information about what's inside Feabie. Other than thickness, she's got a lot going on. Nothing too odd or things you wouldn't want either. What is interesting is their "News Feed." It's like they've turned their profiles on the website into your Twitter feed or Facebook feed. You'll see people pop up and be able to check them out.
For those of us outside the delicious walls of Feabie, we get something more to hold us over. Feabie has a few pages: one that's an "About Us," "Feederism Community," and an FAQ.
A Place for BBW (The Positives)
This is headlined as a "place for BBW" but Feabie is all about people in general. What's nice about Feabie is how inclusive they are. I'll start with people who are bigger, heavier in weight first. That is, basically, what this site is all about initially.
Feabie has created a community of over a hundred thousand people. This comes off the back of being a place where people who are heavier can feel safe and be themselves. There aren't many places where that's okay. Look, a big girl can be just as cute as a girl who's slimmer but with fat assets, okay? But, like you'll always see, not everyone sees it that way. Feabie wiggled there way into that space.
Feabie's "About Us" page details this website who understands people. They can sympathize with how a man or a woman may look at their body. Some people want to be a little bigger. Others want to just not be talked about because of how they look - skinny or fat. And that's the other side of Feabie. Once you get to this page, they're a place for everyone - skinny or fat.
Their dating site also gives people the tools to get to know people and find people like them. From their search engine to their news feed, you're never not looking at other people with them. The other things about Feabie, from their messaging service, to privacy, and mobile app aren't that different. These are things I expect. What's good is that they've done them to a good degree so people can enjoy it.
Also, the tools to find a community within their app and to "save" people to a list is great. You can have a "Network," as I see in their app preview, for the people you want to feed. Or people to want to squeeze and hug. You can have your own community within Feabie. Usually, you'd think "dating site, cool, I can hook up." Feabie can do that, and more, with some of the tools and features available for people.
Well Built (The Negatives)
There's not much that's wrong with Feabie as a whole. There are more things they could do but nothing that's "wrong" with them. The website is built in a very well thought out way. The information they provide is clear, clean, and easy to understand.
A turn-off for some people could be the number of users on the website. Some times, a member counter can be like shooting yourself in the fucking foot. But, this is where things can be done differently is more important for Feabie. Not that something's wrong.
Make it In House (My Suggestions)
Feabie's Twitter isn't too popular - just as some side notes, in case you were wondering. I know I was. There is a lot of good coming out of Feabie. What they are doing is a step in the right direction. Like anything else, however, the people do make the experience. So, take that and do what you will with it. Just don't fuck it. These are words, not a person.
I find something really cool about Feabie and that's their "Blog." Oh, oops, it's on Tumblr. Make an account, check it out. Tumblr isn't a fucking blog. It's social media. And people ditched that fucking site because they didn't want anymore "NSFW/fucking/naked/big booty's" on the site. It sucks! A blog brings about of a "community" feel to the website. It's a dating site, yeah, so bring that out.
If you're making a dating site, one that's as different as "feederism," wouldn't you go all out with it. That's a good portion of people who, for a long time, may not have a safe place. Now, here comes Feabie, with the intention of hooking these juicy people up. A blog is a place for advice, stories from real users, even advice from those same people. If you're active in that community, you can be featured.
They already have this "News Feed" in their dating app. Use that. Sprinkle on some news articles that talk about sexy eating time in the bedroom. Give suggestions like, "set a towel down before bringing out the whip cream." Something needs to be done. It makes no sense for Feabie to start putting their "blog" on another site. Especially, not Tumblr.
Do they do something like events? What other ways are they getting people to hook up. We know of their features but what else? Feabie needs to show off what they're good for on their main page. Not their features, not what they stand for, what they're offering. What's more unique about them than another feederism community?
