Welcome to The Gimp Forum. I was successfully bamboozled by this site’s clever usage of the popular term gimp, which refers to a leather clad fellow who’s there for the BDSM play. This is a BDSM site, but it doesn’t deal in fellows, oh no. They’ve redubbed GIMP to stand for girls in merciless peril. Why would they do this? Because it’s fun and easy marketing. It’s also a misdirect, but it’s not like the site itself is going out of its way to convince you that it has to do with gimps. Don’t get me wrong, gimps may appear as such, but the main focal point of the site is very clearly the overarching BDSM play that mostly features women. The men can star here as well, but only as tools for the provision of pain and pleasure. They don’t take center stage.

As for the site’s overall direction, well, it’s very clearly a forum. That much you can surmise on your own. It’s also the kind of place that encourages interaction from the various members and passersby. They want you to dump your opinions on here and in doing so you’d be helping them both grow and promote the site. They want outsider perspectives. That being said, I don’t think they’d value your opinion very much if you’re some sort of BDSM hater. Also, for reasons that I cannot quite understand, they’ve closed their gates to new members, so you can’t actually join them and make some BDSM loving friends for the time being. I’m hoping that this is some sort of temporary measure, because if it isn’t, it’s a death sentence for this and any forum that follows suit. Maybe they got spammed en masse recently and this is their way to cope. If they keep their doors closed for long, I doubt the forum is going to make it.

Very Well Designed

For a fetish forum, this place has outstandingly impressive design. You can tell that someone really cared when they put this place together. I haven’t exactly seen this particular approach to marketing on most other forums of this kind. Usually, webmasters import a forum script, dump all the category tags on there and just let the place run rampant, powered by the excitement and fascination of random lonely and horny men on the internet. TheGimpForum is no different in essence, mind you, but the overall design on the homepage is peak perfection.

First of all, you don’t see any textual dumps when you jump in. There are images instead. This is next gen technology, let me tell you. Porn forums still haven’t caught up. It’s nice to see that the fetishists are learning. They are visual learners after all. Pain is easier to convey in image form rather than textually. Anyways, let’s get back to the nitty and gritty of it. TheGimpForum’s home page shows you a bunch of large ass images of different kinds of action along with captions telling you what to expect within. They’ve got open discussions, art contributions, a producer’s corner, a mainstream section, an archive and even a banner links section. All of this is neatly organized using sexy and appealing imagery that’s sure to get you warmed up for the content within.

Checking Out Mainstream Smut

Now, I followed through the mainstream section on impulse, to ease myself into whatever depraved smut I would find on this site and I was pleasantly surprised. The category links do indeed lead you to a plain textual forum, as you’re used to seeing, but there’s also a banner section above the posts with direct links to some specific types of content that you might be looking for explicitly. I’m seeing whipping, rack torture, hot iron and electro shock as recommended sections, right before I get the actual threads that belong to the mainstream section. This is what I like to call having your cake and eating it too. I feel as if the webmasters behind TheGimpForum really gave this place their all. They’re basically hounding you with quality content and they’re asking for nothing in return. I’m sure they have some way of monetizing this forum, but my ad-block isn’t catching a single ad, so that’s definitely worth mentioning. This place is a godsend.

One thing I found a bit surprising was that the folks over on TheGimpForum go out of their way to find abusive or otherwise BDSM adjacent scenes in popular cinema, like from Hollywood productions, and crop them into clips so that you can enjoy fapping to those scenes, even though most of them are PG, technically. You don’t see any pussies, you don’t see any titties, usually, but you can fap to the pain. I actually found a scene from an 80s movie featuring Robert Z’Dar. He was assaulting a woman or something. Imagine scraping the bottom of the barrel so fervently that you end up jacking off to a clip with Robert Z’Dar in it. If you don’t recognize the name, don’t worry about it. He’s a dude who did crime movies back in the 80s, always playing the bad guys, because he had a fucked-up jaw.

On the other side of en masse content supply, we’ve got the producer’s corner and boy is this place a godsend. Every single fetish forum worth its salt has some unique twist or turn that makes it stand out above the rest. For TheGimpForum, the producer’s corner is easily that twist. It’s a fucking goldmine. It’s incredible. It’s a nearly endless category of content that was provided by the actual users of the site. That is, the users produced it, from scratch. This is OC pornography, provided for the love of the art. You can fap to actual professional productions, made by amateur producers who then posted that content on here for you for free. That’s fucking insane. And sure, some of them do it to market their websites or whatever, but it’s still free content coming in from the actual fucking source. When’s the last time a porn producer reached out to you personally to give you free porn that they made? This is outrageously cool.

All in all, TheGimpForum gives me extremely welcoming vibes, especially when I see the ways in which the members talk to each other. They’re painfully respectful of each other’s time and preferences and they tend to respect all the rules of the site as well. The categorization of topics isn’t just for show. Everything has a place and everything is in its place. You don’t have to worry about topic cross-contamination or even nonsensical spamming for the purpose of self-promotion. The entire goddamn forum is neat and tidy and you’ll easily find something to enjoy within seconds of time spent on here.

This Place is a Delight

There’s also ample decoration on here to help you get around faster and the users of TheGimpForum know their way around the site so well that they’re experts at tags and titles. You always know what you’re getting into. It’s hard to dive in at random and risk disappointment. It’s no wonder that they boast 23 successful years. Just in case you can’t do math, that means that these folks have been on here jacking it since the 90s. This is a proper legacy site. They know what’s up. They wrote the book.

If you’re doubtful about this claim, by all means, check out the archive. It’s a lot more impressive than you’d think. I’m not sure why they chose to get this specific with the archive, but I’m glad they did. Basically, you get a selection for every month since March of 1999. You pick a month; any month and you can see all the posts from that month top to bottom. The downside of this approach is that for some reason the archive does not store or even support images. So, if they posted some hot smut, you won’t be able to see it. But, if they referenced any smut, you can at least use that information to find it today, on your own.

In theory, they should be able to store and supply all of this content, but considering how this is a free site, I can’t exactly fault them for not floating a good 23 years of content at all times, for free. You get what you can and you should be grateful for it. They don’t archive every year, mind you. You get a good six years of backlog accessible directly on the forum, so I’m guessing that an entire year gets pushed into the archive with each passing year.
