Literotica is perhaps one of the oldest still functional erotic literature platforms online. With a history that goes back decades, the webmasters have done a wonderful job maintaining this website and attracting new generations of pervy writers to produce written pornographic content. Those of you who have read more of this site know that I am quite a big fan of this platform. And given what I write about on my site, it made sense to do a rundown on their erotic horror selections.

The Design Is Decent Enough

I have done reviews on Literotica before, but just in the interest of being thorough, I will go over how the whole site looks or rather feels. While this site is almost as old as the world wide web itself, the web designers have done a decent job at occasionally updating the platform's look. I checked on Wayback Machine and found that the look of Literotica has not changed much, but the newer virtual coats of paint are a nice visual improvement. 

And right now, a new one seems to be coming. In fact, it is almost here. As a default, this site will render in the experimental new Beta mood, which looks pretty sweet. However, if you are a long-time reader of Literotica, you still can switch back to the classic mood. In either case, they both function perfectly fine, though the older version does not seem to be quite as well optimized for mobile machines.

When it comes to how you can sort through all of the horrifyingly good submissions is pretty good. I would even say that this is one of the few places on the net which have managed to find a balance between minimalism and maximalism. They provide plenty of well-programmed and nicely laid out tools to make finding exactly what you desire easy. There are links to order the thousands of submissions alphabetically. Further, there is a list of tags listed at the bottom of every story page, and the authors tend to do a good job of linking plenty of keywords to their stories.

Furthermore, there are links on the right of every page of this part of the site that lists Contest Winners, publications with recent comments left on them, as well as newly popular tags, stories, and authors. Lastly, while there are a few, there are not too many adverts to distract you, either.

There Is Plenty Of Text Erotica Archived

Being as old as it is, this genre of adult literature has a hell of a lot of saucy stories, being somewhere in the neighborhood of about three thousand. So, as far as content to comb through, you will have a hard time running out of material to go through, but if you crave variety or get hooked on a series of spooky, sexy stories, there are lots of regular additions.

Since the content is volunteered by readers and fans, there is no set schedule for when a writer has to submit a story. That said, I have found that there is a new mini-novel added once a day, at least. Some days you might luck out and see as many as half a dozen dirty stories, and that is just in the horror category.

When it comes to the quality of the writing, again, there is no guarantee of what you are going to see. That said, I have noticed that most of the authors do a bang-up job writing up harrowing tales. They do a fantastic job constructing their prose, doing their proofreading, and, most importantly, coming up with creative concepts. Since there are so many uploads being added all of the time, I will refrain from going on too long about the quality. I will say that these tales of terror are terrifically creative. More importantly, they will put you on edge, both due to the thrilling nature of the stories and also how hot under the collar they will make you feel.

Lastly, you can do something which I do not recall another adult publication platform before. By toggling the icon labeled 'A' in the story box info section. Using this feature, you can alter the font size and type, as well as also turn the dark mode off or on.

The Extra Content Is Just Kind Of Okay

A lot of adult websites these days – especially those which seem to be passion projects like this site – tend to add additional features. And when it comes to this site and it does not disappoint, nor does it when it comes to the horror genre either. There are book reviews and discounts on all sorts of other things in the horror genre. There are also some fascinating selections to go through and sexy pictures – though not that many, to be honest – in the category of focus of this review, but in both cases, they are a little harder to find. It would be nice if the search tools were leveraged to make that less of a hassle.

At this point, I am going to guess that based on what I have described, you are wondering on how to get onto this site. Just like using the search tools or navigating around, in general, is a cinch. The process is pretty formulaic and fast. You know, just come up with a username and password. Confirm your email after proving that you are not a robot, and you should be good to go to set up your profile.

The default language is English, though you can switch between seven other major European languages, plus a few more.

Naturally, there is no cost to join, and the whole process takes a couple of minutes at best. The engagement from the community is pretty good, and there are lots of tools presented for readers to leave feedback. Besides commenting, you can publically see what ratings your stories are getting and how many times, and who is favoriting your freaky fap tales. It is hard to say for sure since there are so damn many uploads, but from what I can see, there does not seem to be a lot of flaming. And based on the feedback I have read, there are loads of people who are or have been fapping to the carnal creations of the authors.

I will add that they throw writing contests from time to time, though in this and every category, they have become increasingly infrequent.

When It Comes To Shock-Horror Reads, This Site's Stories Are Hella Hot

And now, let's look at whether or not you should get an account on this site or spend a whole lot of time reading the raunchy material on this website.

While there could be certain improvements made, but just like the rest of the Literotica's categories, the horror collection is crazy amazing. They have plenty of stories to read, which mix up multiple other genres, and the production tends to be pretty good for a non-professional publication platform. Even with my critiques, this is a standup site that any horror freak will love.
