Japanese Cosplay

JCosplay is a website that's trying to find itself, I feel. A site that isn't massive in terms of its Japanese cosplaying girls having sex. This particular spot has found itself an identity. And, if I'm honest, that's all you'd want for a premium Japanese fetish site like this one. They do dabble around in certain other areas but it remains a "fetish."

Cosplays come in all different forms. You're cosplaying as a dog or cat for pet play or you're a schoolgirl. This is something that, luckily, JCosplay has gotten correct. Although, some of the things they talk about in their "Why Us" aren't entirely correct. Namely, about the ease of access and attention for mobile users.

Design - Good for Videos

JCosplay has a good understanding when it comes to designing a website for videos like this. The main page is outfitted with a nice welcoming photo of four Japanese girls and you're let loose on the videos and DVDs. However, the top portion of the site has three dots beside the image. This is supposed to be a rotating display of some JCosplay information. It's not working, unfortunately.

To continue, the pages where the videos/DVDs are are clean. They give you the video off slightly to the side. They then give details about the product in a description, who is performing in it, genre tags, and some photos (if available).

However, there is a place on this site that talks about why you should be with JCosplay. On that page, they refer to their willingness to ensure their site is "mobile-ready." They realize people are moving to different devices, smartphones, and tablets, so they must also "adapt." Yet, they haven't done this. The mobile version is just the same site on a desktop but on your phone.

JCosplay on a phone is a smaller-sized website. The titles you can't read. The images are fine but everything important isn't easily read. You'd have to zoom in. Get that? Fucking zoom in on your phone for a website. No one does that shit anymore. There is no conscious decision to adapt and to "recognize" that people are using phones more. It's just a lazy attempt at making something fit for mobile.

Content - Products are Confusing

So, I've seen a lot of Japanese porn in my day. Let me make the record clear. What I can say is that JAV titles never come apart like they are on this website. JCosplay breaks things down into videos and DVDs. These DVDs aren't actual discs for you to order. They're just the full-length movies that you can stream off the website or download.

For whatever reason, JCosplay has got it in their heads to separate these two things. But then proceed to link you back to the full JAV title?

Other than this weird and stupid decision by those on the backend, there's a lot to go through with JCosplay's content. They do break everything down by category, too. This makes it easier to surf through everything. Not everything they offer is worthy of being called "cosplay." So, I'm unsure why some are even here. And others barely have any content to provide anyway.

It's Japanese Porn (The Positives)

As far as I'm concerned, JCosplay has one good thing going for them: their quality Japanese porn content. They have a bunch of genres so that at least shows their ability to produce and bring this good content for their members. Their work with JAV actresses and bringing them over to be featured on this website is wonderful.

A highlight is they have a ton of JAV actresses on deck for JCosplay. And some of these actresses are big names in the JAV industry. Unfortunately, this is where the good things about JCosplay stop. Their decision-making in how they approach these fabulously sexy movies isn't good.

Why Break Them Up? (The Negatives)

There's an odd decision coming from those who are running the show behind JCosplay. It's the choice to break up the scenes from full-length JAV movies and make them their own separate video. I can't see a reason where this makes any type of sense. Anyone who's ever watched JAV knows that these movies can be pretty long. An hour and a half and beyond. So, why break them apart?

For JCosplay, it's a premium website for Japanese porn. That means you're paying for what you're getting. However, you're paying a membership fee. You're never paying for the movie you're watching or video. It'd be worse if you were paying for everything separately. They'd probably try to swindle you out of some money by making the videos cost more together than the single movie they're from.

They then advertise the ability to download porn. Downloading porn is fine, I guess, but so many places are streaming things. And that's where the confusion comes in. If you look at their full-length titles, the DVDs, you'd notice you can only download those. Going over to the broken-off scenes, you can watch those through the player on the site. But you can also download them.

So... what the fuck's the point of breaking things up? Is it to inflate the amount of content they have on the website? If that's the case, then the amount is much less than what I've seen so far. Make a decision: either you're providing quality JAV movies, at full-length only, or you're breaking them apart. If they continue with their breaking a part idea, it's just stupid. What makes it worse is that they'll link you back to the movie where that scene is from.

Why?

Just Sell the Full Titles (My Suggestions)

JCosplay is all about cosplay sex porn. They already know the genre, and the type of people they want to attract, but they won't go all-in on it. It makes no sense looking at the JAV actresses they have on their site.

The very first thing they need to do is redesign the mobile version of JCosplay. That's first and fucking foremost. It makes no sense why I have to squint and zoom in to read anything on my phone. No other website on a phone is like that. Hello?

Secondly, fix the way you produce your content. The choice of having "videos," which are just the scenes from the full-length movies, makes absolutely no sense. No JAV titles, like this, are ever broken down into mini videos which are just scenes for the full movie. And then they link the mini videos back to the actual movie they're from? No. Fix it. Change it.

If JCosplay wishes to succeed as this Japanese sex cosplay website, they need to remove these videos entirely. Just show off the naked Japanese girls with their asses or tits out. People want to see the covers. They want to enjoy the JAV movies as they are. The site would make more sense if these videos weren't there.

Once I saw these videos, at first glance, I knew it was stupid. Nobody who loves Japanese porn would think that breaking them apart, to then just go back to the source, is a good idea. It's useless running around. Just show off the full-length movies you have and let people enjoy them.

They then need to work on their products. How often are they bringing in new movies? There's also no way of telling what's new. There's a "hottest" tab which is the beginning of the website. JCosplay should be more proud of what they're selling and promote their JAV titles in a better way.

In Conclusion

JCosplay is a website based on Japanese cosplay sex. While it's a good thing that they've found something they know people are interested in, the way they go about it is stupid. Breaking up the scenes of full-length JAV movies and calling them "videos" is beyond fucking stupid.

Their inability to show off new products and to make this site feel like it's alive day in and day out maybe their downfall.
