SpicyMatch really knows how to turn up the heat. They're a site that's known for hooking up swingers with other swingers. SpicyMatch isn't holding out for just the swinging couples either. They welcome everyone whether they're in a relationship or not. SpicyMatch also looks to be looking at elevating their swinging lifestyle game by including parties and other swinger events.
At first glance, SpicyMatch looks to be trying to move into the modern era. With the use of recent technology and other forms of social media, SpicyMatch is leaving a little burn on the tongue.
Design - Finally Understanding
SpicyMatch has done a good job making itself a hottie for a website. I could spank this website for looking so good. The landing page goes through a few photos when you visit. It's a nice entry point to start with. It's an erotic image with some text talking about who they are. So, right off the bat, you know you're on a site with beads around the neck and no fucking pants on. Even on mobile, the site's condensed a bit. But the random entry photo remains and looks good.
Coming down a bit, they feature some people who use the site. They include their profile picture as well. Here's where things get both good and a bit weird. They start with some text about what a "Swinging lifestyle" is and what goes into it. On mobile, that with the image, makes it feel a little cluttered. It's just the image that makes it feel that way.
The great part is when you go down a bit more into the "featured events" and "features" portion. SpicyMatch is actively showing events that are coming up and even what's been "sold out." Then, you get into their features. Something like this is fantastic to see from a design standpoint. You're listing these features quickly, efficiently, and simple enough for people to understand. We're not looking to read a fucking novel about a single feature.
On the back of that, there are a couple of great walls of text beneath all this. In the end, they go into a lengthy discussion about the swinging lifestyle and "swinger clubs." For the sake of them being walls of text and also being on the homepage, I feel they could move these to their own pages. On the other hand, they most likely want to showcase this inclusion. This way of letting people visiting know that they know what it's all about. They understand the struggles.
With that guessing, I can understand it. I'll allow it!
Content - It's the Swingers
SpicyMatch is a website where swingers, as a couple or a single person, can come to meet other swingers. You can hook up, go to an event, and do the naughty dance while everyone else is dancing to music. Letting that sit for a second, you can expect the people to build this website.
I don't mean code the damn site and organize events. Although, we've seen that before. I mean, the people are the website. This holds true for SpicyMatch. The people who sign up for the website are its content. They're the ones giving the new people coming to the site something to look forward to and to stick around for.
But there are other bits that SpicyMatch puts in play for them to enjoy. We know they have "events." And their tab, "Travel," goes into more detail about the events SpicyMatch is hosting as an "official event" that'd you'd travel for. Having something so official as this makes it easy to walk into the venue with a wet floor sign following you. Or having your shorts look like a caution cone.
SpicyMatch then goes into detail about "events." This tab, like the "travel" one, talks about events. But some of these aren't officially made by SpicyMatch. They are places people can go to and have a good time. SpicyMatch is event hosting "photo contests" on their site. You can just pop into the site to cum and then fucking leave.
It Feels Current (The Positives)
SpicyMatch feels like something currently made today. If we're going by anything, their copyright information says they've been in this since 2012. They've kept the website in good condition. They are some areas where they could probably do some work on, just to improve. But, overall, the site doesn't look that old.
Speaking of being a bit current, SpicyMatch also has a mobile app. It functions as a home away from home. A place where you don't want to visit the main base of their website. It's passable. They could probably offer more images than what they have for the app though (Google Play or Apple App Store).
SpicyMatch talks a lot about being an "open-minded social networking" website. You get to see a little bit of that with their "erotic forums." I'm trying not to laugh at that name. It's different, I guess. I should make a forum and call it the "Fucking Forums." Gotta love the Fs in that name. Anyway, their "forums" don't really feel like a forum. It's certainly not set up that way.
What I can say I have enjoyed reading through is their "travel" and "features" sections. The traveling side of things goes into detail about their official events. That's something that doesn't happen a lot. SpicyMatch talks about being open-minded and how the swinging lifestyle is different. And it is. But it doesn't people who are swingers can't enjoy themselves.
Their events that are held throughout the year are such a good way of bringing those people in. Giving them a space that they can feel comfortable in. I think that deserves high marks regardless of anything else.
The other good thing is those features. They have quite a few. They talk about their "pages" which are like a "discovery" tab. Users of the site can go there and find information about clubs, sex toys, and other things related to swinging or even for their personal life. Now is where we come into the hidden side that makes the site good as a "community."
SpicyMatch has its own webcam service where people can stream whatever to other swingers. They also talk up their message interface and video chatting UI (user interface).
Reconfigure (The Negatives)
SpicyMatch has done a good job setting up an open-minded website. Their Twitter talks about being "award-winning" in that regard. I don't fucking know what awards they've won. They don't list them. Where are these awards? Has anyone seen them? Show me! Plaster that shit on the main landing page. Wouldn't you want swingers and other people to know how good of a community you have here? How good your service is?
Knowing who they are is something I wish they were doing more. I understand the main reason for having these walls of text on a website. But you rarely see things like this anymore. With a good, current, main website, great walls of text are simplified. They're small pieces that people can consume. You don't want people feeling like they're reading a book when they didn't sign up to do so. Be clear and efficient with your writing.
They don't show off enough, I feel, who they are. They do a good job of it until we hit the great walls of text. Those can be placed elsewhere, maybe something emailed to people once they sign up. Or just on another page where people can go and read if they're interested in it.
Spring Cleaning (My Suggestions)
The things SpicyMatch can do to make their website look a little better, the beginning of it, would take an hour at most. It's just some reworking of how things look when people are greeted.
This is a "meet local swingers" website. So, it's understandable why they don't want to showcase the live cam shows. These are private for people who use the site to see. Cool. What you can do is showcase the women that are a part of the current photo contest. Show off what you're doing here on SpicyMatch. Don't just talk about it, be about it. You can show who's maybe leading in the contest or some latest entries.
Have some news about some events you're working on. Share something about events you're working on with people who use the site. If someone who uses the site wants to organize something, work with them, and see if it can work. If it does get the greenlight, plaster that shit on the main page. Let people know how active you are. How you're actively working toward building this great open-minded community.
The forum is a tricky subject. Either SpicyMatch needs to get rid of it and only keep the messaging between people. Or make it more of a message board. It already looks more like a message board than a forum. People aren't commenting, it's more about the "likes" given. Perhaps messages are going on behind the scenes that the general public doesn't see. In that regard, keep it, name it an "erotic message board," and move on.
