For this particular review, I'll be focusing on their spanking category. There are some good qualities about a category like this. On desktop, there are high points but on mobile there are some interesting design choices.

Design - One Good Side

We should all be aware by now what Sex.com looks like. If you're unaware, their whole thing was kind of like what Pinterest copied. I'm not saying Pinterest copied Sex.com in anyway but you get the idea. Everything is laid out in front of you: gifs, videos, titles, and some interactable buttons. That is what makes Sex.com so good. But this is only on desktop.

The Sex.com people are most used to sees your entire computer screen showing you porn. For a category like spanking, you can sort the content you see by videos, gifs, pictures, boards (collections), and users. There are loads of pieces of content spread out on my screen which are all amazing. With the gifs playing (and you can change that to "off" so they won't play), I'm always seeing something interesting.

Clicking on a gif that's caught my eye takes me to a modest page with the same gif, some tags about it, and related gifs.

Once I hopped over to my phone, Sex.com really dropped down in quality. The first issue is that there isn't enough shown on mobile. On a phone, it feels like Sex.com didn't really know how to handle all of this porn content. They didn't know how to display it. Everything is vertical but there's less of it. There's more clicking through pages than just scrolling through porn gifs or videos.

There is also a missing link/button for finding gifs on Sex.com for mobile. I actually had to go and find it inside the additional search options at the top of the page. There are buttons for everything else beneath that. What happened to the gifs?

Lose Yourself (The Positives)

Sex.com's spanking section can really make you lose yourself in it. If it's not evident enough, them just displaying so much content constantly is their high point. For a site like this, where you're offering different pieces of porn content, you need to find a way of balancing it. While there are places where everything form is tossed together, Sex.com giving you a way to filter it is even better. If gifs are your go-to, enjoy it. If it's videos, you can look at those, too.

Another noteworthy point is that Sex.com has provided a few different pieces of content. They could've settled for just gifs and called it and things would've worked fine. But they've gone the extra mile and understand that porn comes in a few different forms. Being able to find spanking videos, gifs, and pictures is a great asset.

The final bit that I enjoy about how Sex.com has broken down their categories is they sort of try to keep you in whatever category you're in. I'm in spanking and the gifs, videos, and pictures all include some tags when you're just browsing. Some of these are like add-ons for spanking. I've seen spanking ass, ass slapped, spanking naughty, and more. These all have to deal with spanking but what you're seeing can be just a little bit different.

There are some gifs that show tags during the preview that don't deal with spanking. But you know it does considering it's there. Sex.com has always had something good going. But I do wonder what happened when it got down to creating a mobile experience. Why were things cut so much? I want a thick mobile experience, okay?

The first thing would be to include every piece of content as a tappable button on mobile. The only one missing is the gif button. It can be found by expanding the drop down menu in the search bar but the others are there and beneath it. Do the same for gifs.

My next suggestion would be to include more spanking gif content, and other content, and less page hopping. Sex.com on desktop computers displays so much content and then showing you the next page buttons. On mobile, you don't really get that much before they're showing you the next page number. Include more porn content on mobile to really have that same sort of experience I'd get on a regular computer.

Sex.com and their spanking section is one of the best out there. They offer so many different ways of enjoying spanking porn. There are videos, gifs, and photos. The community has a huge hand in what goes on with posting and can create "boards" or collections of photos for people who may enjoy the same things. It's a very enjoyable space that you can really loose yourself in with all the porn coming at you.
